@judis Thanks Judi. I'm actually having an issue with my zoom--maybe you can advise--When I take a photo at full 300 mm, I often get purple and green hazes around the limbs or on the subject--It's driving me crazy (that is part of the reason I edited in b&w here--although, admittedly, better this way anyway). I am using auto mode for these shots because I'm inside taking outside shots. Any advice? It's bugging me!
@darylo I think this is called lens flare and is due to how the light is hitting the camera lens. It gets refracted and enters at a weird angle to create the lens flare. It happens most often to me when I am shooting toward the sun or when the light is reflected back at me. this would be a good question to pose on the Tips and Techniques discussion area. :-)
@judis You know I'm too afraid to post there!!! I only find it when I use the lens at full distance, but it must be light and the angle. I know it's mornings and midday, which could be the light. I have been able to eliminate it more often when I control the settings. I'll work on it some more, and if I don't figure it out, I'll post it to discussions on April 1 (Fool's Day!). :)
