Finally found where Mama robin has been going with her beak full each morning. She's got a beautiful nest in the gardenias next to my house--I've been watching her and her mate for weeks, but could not figure out where they were going until this morning when I looked at some other birds chasing each other. This one froze up on the rooftop and looked right at me. She flew away but came back to go behind the bushes.
Mr. Robin stands guard after she goes to the back yard to gather nest materials. She then flies to the neighboring house's roof; finally, she makes her way to the nest to arrange things. You can tell she's soaked from the rains last night and from going through all the brush in my back yard. I'll get a nest photo at some point. I really do try to 'stay out' of their business, but this was just too priceless not to post on 365 today! :)
@darylo Send her this way, I put all my rabbits loose fur in the back garden for the birds to collect, the birds in my street are living like Zja-zja Gabor ;)
@danette Yes! It is cool! Also, looks like I have a chickadee about to lay eggs in our bird house, but the bad news is a black southern razor snake was under there (and not short) looking up this afternoon--sufficiently put us all on guard. I don't like snakes. Yuck. Now I'm worried about the birdies (well, and me).
