Quadrants

I miss being in the city so much. I'm from Atlanta, and while I live about 30 minutes away from the ATL, I always crave my intown roots. My mother lives in a highrise condo in the heart of midtown. When I exit the elevators, I can look left and see the sky scrapers down Peachtree St. all the way to downtown. Looking to the right, I can see the green side of Atlanta--lush, beautiful (the city of Trees!). When I took up my camera and pointed it left, I loved how the window framing and interior rail divided the buildings outside into quadrants. And I liked the geometric feel to the view. It also has a reflection of me on the left side--another selfie. HAHA

Today also started with a bit of shock on my part--I witnessed a hawk swoop and scoop up a small bird and fly off. My backyard has been such a pleasurable oasis for wildlife (and I provide no food or rest spots--it's just a natural space). In this week alone, I have seen so many varieties of birds, two active nests (one in the treehouse and one on the side of our house), a southern black racer snake, squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks, etc. But when I saw the hawk fly away with the squealing alive bird, I had to remind myself that this "cute" scene I'm witnessing is really a tough and cruel world. Circle of life I guess.
fabulous!!
