The night before Thanksgiving, we decorate the walls, roof, and chimney of our homemade gingerbread house. I made royal icing and mixed the colors in this year--not something I usually do and would much prefer my husband's hand in this--he is the master gingerbread house architect.
We usually have one other child, my friend Collin's son Eric, but he had a basketball game for a Thanksgiving Day tournament. I was so glad she was able to come between work and her own game (she coaches a girls team herself!). My dad has started to be part of this tradition as he spends the night with us (we have to continue plotting and planning the GREAT meal we hope to serve after all!). While the decorating is going on, here is what I was cooking: http://365project.org/darylo/365/2013-11-27
