Dad's Garden

Ahhh, Spring is here, and so is the work of clearing weeds for new garden concepts. My father and I spent 3 hours working hard to eradicate a pervasive weed cover. I even encountered two brown snakes--hooray for gloves! I did a little relocation program for them and placed them back in the bushes. :)

We didn't touch the irises, the lantana, the grand rosemary bush or the nice bushes on all four corners.

Soon, Dad will go and pick out new plants to stun his neighbors who live in his community! It was a wonderful day, with a break for lunch in the gazebo. I think we both might need a bit of ibuprofen to take some of the aches away, but it was just so nice to work side-by-side.

Now to dream of wonderful blooms to come! Happy Spring Dad and everyone!
One of the nicest things to do, I think, is to work in the garden with your favourite person1

Looks lovely! I think I'd like your garden!! We used to have a HUGE one - almost an acre is garden beds. I have to say I'm not missing all the spring clean up this year. We have two small beds only at the new house. I want more time for other things.

What a nice set of photos of your dad and the garden - hope he doesn't overdo it! That's what my dad does - he forgets he's 80!

I need to do the same thing. We have tulip shoots in the front yard and 1 1/2 feet of snow in back. What a mess.

@rvwalker Good luck. Hope the snow starts to melt soon!
