I walked around downtown in rather frigid weather, with a cutting wind at times. The best thing that happened was encountering this group of carolers on Washington Street, in the middle of the downtown shopping district. They were really good, singing in four-part harmony. When I arrived, they were doing one of my favorite carols, Christina Rossetti's "In the Bleak Mid-winter." Most people passed right by, some with a smile. I stayed on the corner listening for several carols. I appreciated their costumes too.
I played around with the photo as there was a bad background where they were standing.
They look like characters from the old Quality Street tins ( in case you've never heard of them, they are chocolate sweets, particularly popular at Christmas time & the old tins years ago had characters dressed like this on them)
That's an interesting association with the Quality Street tins. Being quite an Anglophile, I read English magazines and books and so I have heard of Quality Street candies. I think I have even seen some in a shop in Newburyport, Massachusetts that sells British goods. I've never eaten them, though.
Thank you for the interesting comment.
