After working on the decoration last night and almost all of today, I am almost finished. I have a collection of hundreds of ornaments, and each one must be carefully placed. The tree is about seven feet high, and I need Peter to put some of the small ornaments near the top. He has promised to do it tomorrow morning, and then I will add the glass icicles and the silver icicles as a final touch.
I adore the Christmas tree and will spend much time in the next few weeks sitting near it and gazing upon it. As a child, I was entranced by the tree, and I still am. We had colored lights back in the fifties; now I always have white lights. Every year I add a few ornaments to the collection.
(I'm sorry those piles of books are in the background. I desperately need to have more bookshelves built in the coming year.)
