The council are chopping trees down round our way and suddenly trees I've known since my teens in the 1960s are being felled at a rate of knots (pardon the pun), no doubt there is some health and safety issue here, as they are leaning at an angle on a rather steep slope, but I still feel like I'm losing old friends that I've known since they were mere saplings like I was back then.
Oh, how sad and it will surely affect the landscape too, it takes some getting used to to lose all those childhood trees, it´s almost like loosing a part of yourself when you lose something that´s a link to past.
