The Whistling Kite is a medium sized Australian raptor found in woodlands, open country and particularly wetlands. It is also common around farmland, vineyards and anywhere where carrion (dead animals) can be found. We see them each day soaring above our house, you hear them usually before you see them as they have a distinct whistle. They grow to 60cms with a wingspan of up to 145cms, females are larger.

Fantastic captures Di. I love the sound of whistling kites. A fav. When I spoke to Marilyn she said she'd forgotten about The Battle of Bannockburn too but luckily her daughter Kim rang and told her. Ha, we live in our Lethy bubble!
Love the collage and framing, beautifully done.
