Nikau by dide

Nikau

These lovely nikau palm sculptures are at the entrance to the Auckland Botanical Gardens. They do not have sculptured trunks, but instead, have a water feature representing the trunks. Watch this space - I will put up a real nikau sometime soon!
They are beautiful plant, real or sculpture. I walked through the Nikau Forest at Heaphy track during Christmas, They are so pretty.

The sharpness of this image is great and really brings out the angularity of the subjects. I love the plain uncluttered lines of the sculpture/s against that startlingly blue sky and white clouds.
