Ready to go! by dide

Ready to go!

Tomorrow, we have 35 kids and some parents coming to plant by the stream. The pinkish area has been sprayed (unfortunately the only way to stop the kikuyu grass from smothering the new plants). The plants in the crates are flax and carex and these will be nearest the stream - the manuka (tea tree) and cabbage trees will be planted a bit further away. Our lovely neighbour brought over some baking to help with feeding the kids. They will get baking, sausage rolls and fruit for morning tea. Soup and barbecued sausages and more fruit for lunch. The kids are pretty young, so some older ones from another class are coming to help them. That's our house at the top of the hill.
Wahoo, looking forward to seeing the area planted..

@julzmaioro Yep - we are looking forward to having you on site to be the official photographer! @padlock Hopefully not too many kids end up in the stream, although it's not been too cold during the day….
