What a hive of activity on the planting site today. The kids did a great job and were very proud to be planting trees that they had raised from seedlings. The weather was perfect and everyone had a good time. Kids enjoyed all the refreshments and went home happy. Have a look at @julzmaioro - Julz was the official photographer and has some cool images in her collage - including 'Moe' the puppet who spent the day with the kids getting filmed for a TV programme. The Trees for Survival project is a great way for kids to learn, and landowners to have trees supplied and planted - a win/win situation!
Here is a link to the style of programme that Moe appears in - will send the link when the programme filmed at our place appears on TV. http://www.four.co.nz/MOE-The-Letter-N/tabid/3695/articleID/95274/MCat/3639/Default.aspx
Lovely to see the actual plant......bet you all had a ball, looks like you got everything done....everybody happy...planters, owners & parents....their little darlings will sleep tonight!
Such a wonderful concept — to have the children involved in the growing and then planting of trees and plants. I wonder if at some point in the future they'll return for a visit to see how their work is progressing. Very nice collage of the event.
