Nikau palm by dide

Nikau palm

The nikau palm grow to 15 metres tall. Their long graceful trunks have circular leaf frond scars. The kereru (NZ native wood pigeon) love to eat the seed berries. This fine specimen was in an area called Murphies' Bush in an Auckland suburb.
