When I went to see the gannets at Muriwai early this morning, this stupid man climbed over the fence and in amongst the birds. You can see he has scared one off the nest and unsettled the others. I was at another lookout point, (using my big lens) and on my own - otherwise I might have yelled at him!
Oh he should be bombed by one of them with white stuff! Trying to be be in the forefront for someone. Did others yell at him? This is such a special place!
@maggiemae There were only three people visiting at the time - myself, him and his mate, so I wasn't prepared to stick my neck out, as it is a bit isolated….
Idiot!! That is why they rope off the seal habitat at the La Jolla Cove, to protect them from imbeciles getting too close and scaring them off while trying to take selfies with them!!
We are all guilty at times of stepping over the boundary to get a better picture, but disturbing wildlife, particularly at breeding time, is really not acceptable. Nicely recorded; hope he learns a lesson.
Such a shame some humans can be so inconsiderate of wildlife. He looks to be quite proud of himself for disturbing them. I hope your taking his picture made him uncomfortable.
Wot a total moron - attention-seeking behaviour. But on your own you couldn't really tackle someone that stupid and thoughtless. Send the shot to your local paper.
