My niece and her boyfriend left to go camping today. They loaded their little car up to the roof and off they went. Later in the day, we travelled out to see them - all set up in a nice corner of a Regional Park, and right under a pohutukawa tree. The tui love these trees and wake up around 4:30 am, singing to welcome in the new day…..
It looks like a great spot. No sleeping in for them though! I remember as a kid camping near a huge pohutukawa tree. It had a little platform that we could easily climb up to and I took a camp stool up there and read books in the tree :)
