Butter churn by dide

Butter churn

I made butter at school with the kids yesterday. We had been studying NZ history, so it was a good chance to incorporate some science and history together. They loved it - we didn't use the churn, but instead used jam jars with a marble inside as a shaker. The butter turned out well and the kids were pretty chuffed with themselves!
Fabulous in B&W, I lve the textures that have been brought out.

Beautiful composition and presentation Dianne, excellent Idea to use a jam jar and marble, each child able to produce their own butter, science and history working hand in hand A* Miss :)

Wonderful butter churn capture. How great to teach the children the old fashioned ways, and mixing history and science. Congrats.

Love this capture. Brings back good memories of making butter in a wooden churn when I was small. 2of my aunts had glass churns like this. Great that the children get to make butter and know where it come from. I bet it was delicious too.

It's great fun to try & make your own butter. I remember trying but we never had a shaker....perhaps that's why we never got much!
