Void

This neat sculpture was at the Pah Homestead, where I visited with @julzmaioro recently. I was trying to explain all about it to my sister, when she suggested just using it on 365. So Carrie - this one's for you!
The sculptor is Ramon Robertson, who came from Scotland to live in NZ in 2011. It is on a wooden platform about 2 metres off the ground, and the men are about 30cm high. It is neat because it makes you wonder - what are they doing, what are they thinking, looking at? I am pretty sure that Void is the correct name - although Mr Google's image shows some with square viewing things on their faces, unlike this sculpture, where they were all just looking with their naked eyes.
lovely balanced image - I had notheard of this before but I agree it does make you think - I feel a saddness or hopelessness in the sculpture but that is my interpretation - I am sure there are many different explanations and that in my view suggests a sucessful piece of art

Sounds very Zen. Thinking void.

@handymaurice Yes - at first I thought funeral as they all have suits on. Then I looked again and wondered why they are all looking different ways, with some gazing skyward, I love the placement of their hands - this too, gives it a formal, sad look.

Fascinating sculpture beautifully capture against the sky Dianne quite thought provoking suspect it says different things to each person viewing the sculpture, despair or lack of direction to me, lol :)

This is fascinating. It reminded me of something I saw in the water in Barcelona. I wonder if it is the same artist? I think they have all just arrived in heaven and depending on their lives they are all looking around with different reactions. Hmmm too much vivid imagination Cherrill!! fav

I like it! Very cool sculpture. I would have guessed it to be bigger if you hadn't mentioned the size.
