Peeping through the fence by dide

Peeping through the fence

A nice day out with @julzmaioro checking out the local peninsula. I loved the way the very old pohutukawa trees made a frame for the view down the gully to the old barn. I would have climbed over the fence, but there were two hot (electric) wires, so I wasn't game to test if they were live! I think this may well be part of the farm that my husband's family used to own. I will need to find out more…
Some of the pohutukawa trees in NZ have contracted a terrible disease called Myrtle Rust and so everyone is hoping that the species survive.
Beautiful framing

Looks like you are looking through a window... great shot ... I am very weary of electric fences as well ... too many times getting a unexpected 'Zap'...

Gorgeous shot, gorgeous view, gorgeous framing. Fav. You did well not to test that electric-wired fence.

Oh no that is bad news Dianne. Those trees are iconic in NZ. Beware electric fences, I hate them! Interesting research for you! Looks a lovely place!

@happypat yes it’s devastating - only been found in a few areas so far. It also affects feijoa trees.

Wonderful scenery 😍

The perspective and framing really feel like you're peeping. Bad news about the trees. Hope it can be gotten under control.

I like how you framed it too! Such a beautiful scene! Hope the trees will be okay as well.

I hadn't heard about that disease. It would be terrible if it spread NZ wide. Those trees are so beautiful and iconic.
