Our quiet, safe little beach on the southern end of the Manukau Harbour was a bit different today. We have had lots of rain (most welcome), high winds from the north-west and big tides. So today, the beach was very flooded and rough. Really just a set of diary shots to remember the storm.
Wow that's a lot of water. Being from the Hikurangi swamp area originally I am pretty familiar with flooding. I still have very vivid memories of cyclone Bola and the widespread damage that caused. Our farm was totally under water then.
Did you receive a fair amount of tree damage too?
