Matamata Museum by dide

Matamata Museum

On the way to Rotorua today, we stopped at the Matamata Museum. The actual museum was closed, but we had a wander around the replica village. What a beautifully kept area - we'll have to go back when it is open. I loved the old phone box - that's Chook peeking out!
As well as the great museum, we discovered that you can park your camper van there in the shade of some lovely big trees - $12 for power or $6 unpowered. I think we'll be back!
Lovely collage giving a favour of the place Dianne, its well worth a revisit and at those hookup rates its a bargain to:)

It looks like an interesting place to explore - love museums with an outdoor aspect. An enticing triptych - makes me want to visit.

Matamata is the kind of town you pass through ... we should stop and take a wonder more often...
