A collage of images from Awhitu Regional Park, to show more progress. The sea wall is fixed! We are so pleased to see this sea wall has been repaired. It is protecting an area where there are some lovely big pohutukawa and a nice big patch of grass for picnics.
(A few months ago, in a big storm, water got in behind the wall and damaged part of it.) About 20-25 years ago (can't remember quite when), the blokes in our camping group helped to build this wall, so we feel that we are part of the history of this area…
After major hurricanes on the coast of Texas, there’s always so much work to do on retaining walls and the dredging of canals. Water is so powerful during those storms. This is a great retaining wall!
