I stayed at the Awhitu Regional Park last night. In the late afternoon I had a wander around and made myself use just the wide angle lens set on 12mm. I was also giving myself the challenge of just taking b&w images. It really makes you look for textures and tones. These cockle shells fitted the bill nicely.
It's been such a long time since I have been down to the beach to gather shellfish. I remember as a child going almost every weekend. This is a great capture.
Great shot of these cockle's, we used to go out to the sandbanks in Fosdyke and collect several large bags full at a time and Evan cooked them on the boat, good old days.
