Twelve more days until Christmas. I still cannot believe we are coming to another year's end. It has been a busy year. I was sitting in the living room this afternoon, and with the rain we've been having all day, it was dark and dreary outside, so the Christmas tree gave off a nice soft light. I noticed the clock on the wall behind the tree, and it made me think about the approaching day. As much as I love Christmas and the joy associated with giving gifts to others, I cannot help but think about all those who are struggling out there, physically, fianancially, and emotionally. Every year we do special things for the needy in our area, and my thoughts and prayers go out to those across the land that hearts will be touched this holiday season to give of their time and bounty to help others in need. No need to look far. They are right there in your neighborhood.
Bernie & I have had bees for about 25 years - hobby only - about 12 hives.
About a month or two ago, Bernie went to check them & found "hive beetle". We had to burn the lot - it was a very sad occasion. We are not allowed to use the chemicals that would eliminate them here in Australia.
He may start another hive up again in the new year ?!
Nice shot Rick. I completely agree with you. christmas can be a difficult time for some families. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ and is a spirit of good news and good tiding
very pretty photo, On Thursday were I work we will once again be boxing up food and gifts for 134 families in our area for Christmas.. It feels good to help..
That is so true! I think the best gift we can give Christ is to do as He said and help the poor and needy - our neighbors. If everyone did that what a better world it would be!
What a lovely and festive tree! Your clock is almost identical to mine. In fact, this morning on some of my groups my question for the day was how many clocks people had in their homes and whether they had any wind up clocks.
It can feel like I am looking into your home via a small chink in a curtain, and wondering what you will all be having when I am having nothing. (imagine)
Then the other side of the coin catching a glimpse via the window of the real warmth and festive feel of Christmas. As I trudge home loaded with Presents for family and friends.
