As I was leaving work the other day I stopped to admire this one tree. It is all white, decorated with silver Christmas balls. It is just beautiful in its simplicity and the lights make the silver balls glisten. I pulled out my camera took a shot and later when I uploaded my photos onto the computer to edit them I noticed that I had achieved an accidental selfie. The tree itself stood there at that same spot for the past couple of weeks as an entry in our festival of lights, and even though it looked nice, and I saw it many times throughout the day for the past couple of weeks, I never took the time to stop and admire its true beauty. So it is with so many things that come into our lives. There are so many things that we take for granted, and we never really take the time to appreciate their importance. We live such busy and chaotic lifestyles. I think we miss out on so much. I don't know why it's so hard to slow down once and awhile, just enjoy life and the beauty that it offers.
Great capture. I agree with you, and I did very much appreciate the sun we had a few days ago...same sun we get in the summer, but seem to appreciate it more in the winter.
What a beautiful photo and such a great message along with it! I think photography forces us to stop and take notice, which is one of the things I love most about it!
So true Rick. Things we see everyday, we sometimes miss the beauty. I wonder if that is the way that it should work, because when we finally notice the beauty that we may have been missing, it makes us open our eyes a little more in that instant! I love this shot! I actually tried to do it, at the mall, with the reflection of Santa in the ornament, and well, it didn't work out well......better luck next time for me! LOL
Have a beautiful Christmas! ^ ^
