A movie based on the true events of a horrific tragedy that occurred in October of 2006 when a lone gunman shot and killed 5 Amish children, and wounded 5 others at an Amish school in Nickel Mines, Pennsylvania. The movie demonstrates the tremendous example of forgiveness and compassion of the Amish community, in spite of the tragic events that unfolded that dreadful day in Lancaster County, PA.
I remember the event but didn't know anyone had made a movie of the day's terrible events. You certainly captured the drama and the symbolism of the story.
Oh gosh, I never heard of that tragedy! This is a great tribute! I will have to rent the movie. Sounds like I'll need a box of kleenex while watching too! :*(
I've seen that movie and it is heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time. If the Amish can forgive in the face of such a tragic event, then I can forgive for the little things :) A lesson to be learn for sure. Great portrayal Rick!
That movie was so good...in a very tragic way. But it showed the other side that some of us never consider and it was truly touching....just like your picture!
A friend of mine recommended that movie to me. I haven't seen it but I'll have to look it up now. That kind of forgiveness is not easy to understand. I think it can only be divine.
Yes, I remember this, very sad. Just goes to show you the love of God in your heart to forgive. I haven't seen the movie, I'm sure it's sad. It was very hard to watch when it really happened. I think it's great how you captured it and put us in remberance to always forgive. :-)
are these iron or plaster figures? they are so wonderful.
I need to see this movie. I had no idea this even happened!
