This has been one busy weeks, well let me rephrase that. It has been one of the busiest twelve day stretches that I have had in a long time. During the past two years, I have chosen to work a weekend every other week in addition to my regular working hours. It provides for some extra income for those extra things you like to indulge in. You know, the material things in life. There are two negatives about doing this. First, once you get used to the extra income, it's kind of hard to give it up. Secondly, when I work the weekend it means a twelve day stretch. That tends to get old, and especially when you have a week like I had trying to catch up on all the necessary paperwork I had to get done. Needless to say, this morning I really wanted to stay in bed, but I kept telling myself, this is the last day and then a weekend off. It was tough driving to work, thinking about my desk full of paperwork. Then I came upon this sunrise. It didn't make my paperwork go away, but it did provide me with this thought, "In spite of how bad things can appear to be, there is always something in life that can make you take a breath and appreciate life, and all the beautiful things that surround you." I am posting later than usual tonight. We all went out for supper tonight and then afterwards went to my Brothers, watched a movie and played pool. Now I must catch up. Hope you all have a great day.,
Simply breath taking and thanks for reminding us of how are we all work and to appreciate the time we "stop"....
(my hubby does the same, so we totally empathize)
This is So pretty Rick, could sit in my car for a long time looking at that scene..
and you are right, I got 5 big hugs and one kiss on the check today, when my kidos left class. Made my day.... helped me get through the afternoon of childcare with 2 older kids, that broke everything. lol
The caption is so wonderful and true - I'm in the same boat; too stressed about what has to be done and sometimes forgetting that life is still good. The shot itself is stunning! Hope you have a great weekend :)
Great photo! I did a sunset today as well, but i decided to go HDR on it, to allow even tone through the highlights and shadows. Great composition here, so make it seem so effortless!
Absolutely beautiful, Rick. So glad you were able to see this and capture it as well. Thanks, also for the reminder that I sometimes need that it's not always as bad as I might think. :) Great photo.
