Today my Wife and I celebrated 31 years of marriage. My Wife enjoys receiving cards, and she keeps them all. She will set them out for several days, picking them up from time to time to read them again before lovingly putting them away in her special drawer. As this card says, "Having A Happy Marriage Doesn't Mean Life Is Perfect - At Least Not All The Time. It Means We Laughed More Than We Cried, Celebrated More Than We've Worried, And Loved Each Other Through Everything" Through the years we've learned the valuable lesson of drawing close through the difficult times, thus becoming stronger. We've learned that the ability to trust each other became easier with each passing year. I can honestly say that if I had to do it all over again, I would. There is nothing greater than knowing you have found your soul mate for life, and it is comforting knowing that in spite of all our shortcomings, we are still one. She's been my hope and my strength.
@sarasdadandmom Yep, the only thing left to do is a night out for dinner and that special get away, yet to be scheduled. I want to catch her off guard.
Rick, congratulations to you and your wife on 31 years! How true those words are! I love that she keeps them, and reads them again, and again!! So romantic!
Congratulations Rick.....Happy Anniversary, with many more to come. I can relate to your wife keeping cards. i also keep every card I get. It's nice to sit and read them from time to time. They instantly take you back to that moment and how you were feeling when you read it the very first time.
Beautiful..Happy Anniversary to you both! I, too, save my cards and read them every so often...again and again. Your card is so darn nice!!! What did your wife say??
Beautiful tribute to your marriage, Rick. I have the same feelings about mine. We're so fortunate to have found our mates for life. Love how you express yourself.
Happy Anniversary!!! My husband (believe it or not) is the card keeper....me, not so much. He displays the cards on the fire place mantle until I go and take them down at some point.
@marytj You know, we have this running joke. When she gets me a card, I read it and appreciate it, and it's done. She then stores it in her drawer, but she feels I should read it over and over again like she does. I tell her, I read it once and it's kept forever in my mind. She laughs. When we are at the store and it is around a special day, she picks out a card and hands it to me and says, here your card. She loved this one, and said, "How do you always find the right one?"
Fabulous photo of a dificult thing to photograph. Congratulations to you and Josie on such a wonderful accomplishment! That you still feel this way after 31 years makes me unbelievably happy. I feel the same way about my husband. The hard times have brought us closer and I now know I can trust him with my life. Like your wife, I have a collection of all the cards he has given me and I happened to read one the other day...re-reading the words he wrote years ago made me love him even more today. Your wife is a very smart woman.
beautiful!! everything you said was so beautiful as well!! and you are right, there is NOTHING greater then knowing you have found your soul mate for life!! i dont know what i would do without mine and i look forward to MANY YEARS of marriage with him as well :D
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!!!!
How romantic. Congratulation to you both and happy anniversary. I am sure you will celebrate many more happy years as your words show that you know how keep the balance on the on the right side.
Happy Anniversary to the two of you! It's a wonderful blessing to have someone to share life through all it throws at us. I know she feels as fortunate as you do...and why do I suspect she'd like a printout of what you wrote above to slip in amongst all the cards she's received through the years :-) My best to you!
~ happy anniversary to you both. :)
I hope you had a wonderful day.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!!!!
