The heat has been intense, and as you can see by the look of these flowers, they are hanging on the best they can. The brown in the background, our lawn. It hasn't been mowed in a week and a half. The central air conditioning is struggling to keep the house at 78. Its been a long time since its been this hot. I am uploading early tonight, because we are taking my Father out for his Birthday. He turned 81 today, and we are happy that he is still quite active. He lives on his own, and he still drives. Hey, stay cool, and have a nice cool evening if you can. I will be back later to comment.
Nice capture even though on their way "out" d/t heat! I guess the fact that you can put off cutting the lawn for awhile is the good news...my plants are suffering as well!

Still a colorful picture. We hasve a heat wave as I mentioned before and airconditioning is running day and night and it hardly moves.the humidity is so bad I think the AC has to work double as hard. nice inside though compared to when you step outside. we're watering the flowers mornings and late at night.
My pansies are wilting much like your marigolds, but so far the water we're recycling from our dehumidifier in the crawl space is helping most of the others to survive. I can't remember a heat wave on the national level like ever. It's incredible. I feel so sorry for you marigolds but it's a great close-up of what a drought does to the poor little things. @mrssmith Thank you, and we had a wonderful time of talking and laughing. You know, all the while growig up, our Dad was always quiet, always working, and really not demonstrative at all in his emotions. That's how we grew up. It is so neat to see him now, a different person, open, fun loving and much more open to affection. thank you for the Birthday wish
