Well, it has been a busy holiday weekend, and though we are all tired, it's a good tired. We were able to accomplish so much in these past three days, and now we are moving toward the final steps in getting Dad's house on the market. He lived in a 55 and Older Community, so the market is a bit limited, but we are hopeful that the right buyer will come along. In the past three days we painted the entire interior walls and ceilings, and cleaned everythinbg in sight. This week we are tearing up all the carpet and then having new carpet installed. The entire exterior was pressure washed (thanks to our Son) cleaned up the landscape, trimmed shrubs, and this week we are putting down mulch. Then the only thing left to do is to paint the garage walls, replace a few outdoor light fixtures, and then we will be able to get it on the market. I did not have time to be out taking photos so I pulled this photo out of a few that I had taken last week becase it provided me with a mental image of the road we've been on. Its been a little rugged, but the pathway was clearly marked, and we can see the top of the hill, our goal.
You're still standing just like the tree, and now it's time to move on down the road. The twists and turns of life are endless. Very interesting, Rick.
Wonderful picture -- and so perfect for your weekend! You got a LOT done and I know it looks great! The right person will come along and it will be perfect for them!!!
Not only a charming photo, but your wonderful writing is like a page out of your journal! Your "Can Do!" attitude will see the task done soon, and I hope someone's out there just waiting for their new home!
This is beautiful. I know you are busy and have things going on but I want to thank you for your kind comments on my photos and taking the time to view them. I know you will find the perfect buyer and they will make special memories there as well.
Perfect shot to fit what's happening in your life right now...and I envy you for having made such progress so quickly. As you may recall, my dad passed just before your dad...mine on July 1 but if we can get his house on the market by next spring I think we will be doing well...of course right now it all falls to my sister and brother to work on it...now that school is back in session I cannot get "home" too often...guilt, guilt, guilt...and I know the stress you must be feeling but you are doing great! Good luck on the sale!
@hwy61 His house was only 12 years old, and it wasn't too bad exept for wear on the carpet, so we decided to replace all the carpet. We just want to unload it as soon as possible. It's a two bedroom with no basement, just perfect for a couple. We are so disappointed it doesn't have a basement, because if it did, we would be buying it for ourselves. But with no basement, and only two bedroomns, not enough room for our hobbies, and visiting grand-children. The house is going to be almost brand new when we are done,so hopefully it will be appealing to someone. My one Brother lives in New Hampshire, so he is feeling guilty too, but we understand. That's life.
I really like what you had to say Rick. It seems that it is such a healthy way to live. Some projects although sad in a way can bring a family together and help them to go forward. It's a beautiful shot and works so well with your life. Sometimes there's a reason we "save" shots for later. This was a good one!
You always have the best tree photos Rick; I actually have gone out looking for a beautiful tree sitting in a field by itself, but cannot find one around here. It's probably because of hurricanes and nor'easters which tear them to shreds or kill them.
All your good work will come to fruition soon.
It's a hard road & sometimes long, but there is an end.
Gr8 job !
