As a manager, part of my responsibility is to routinely evaluate staff performance, and as I look at these individuals, I try to identify their individual attributes. Though everyone's list is different, there are some who's list of attributes is far more impressive than others. Those are the ones who stand above the rest when it comes to quality work performance, and those are the ones that I would typically go to if I had something important that needed to be done. A little effort goes a long way when it comes to our own personal character and how others perceive us. As I thought about this, I began making a list of attributes that I thought were important, and then I did a little introspection, and asked myself, If I look for these attributes in others, do I possess them as well? I believe I need to be a living example.
How nice that you, as the reviewer, should be an example to the reviewees. All too often I'd been reviewed in the past by people who didn't get this concept.
When I look at this tree I've a feeling its lonely at the top. without your words I knew you have what it takes to be on the top..you know what to look for in people and I know you treat them with respect and you'll be a great example to them..
You seem like a very responsible reviewer. I've done it and it's hard. All we have to go on is our own experiences. I've also learned to let people do what they do best. That is when everyone excels. Whatever you decide will be appropriate and fair. :-)
Really powerful words. I think everyone could use a little introspection like that every now and then. The world would be a better place. Great job with the photo processing. The textures make it look like the sky was painted.
This is beautiful Rick. I'm not sure how you processed it, but I love it.
I'm sure you measure up just based on the fact that you considered it. Many people only look at others behaviors and faults.
Rick, I believe you are an excellent manager- because good leaders will often critique themselves as well as the ones they lead. The shot goes very well with your words.
