Time, A Precious Commodity by digitalrn

Time, A Precious Commodity

I have my Grandparent's mantel clock in the basement, and tonight I realized it was the only clock I had not turned back an hour. As I was chnging the time I was reminded how often I complain about running out of time. You know, there never seems to be enough hours in a day to get everything done, and we are always running behind. I think it is something we take forgranted too often. Time is a precious commodity. We have our health, a job, a home and family, and yet, we want more time. In the past several years I've had friends who had been given the bad news of a terminal illness. Time for them became extremely valuable, priceless. We all live on borrowed time, but some, unfortunately have their time cut short. I need to be more mindful of this as I live each day, so I can enjoy the time I have been given, and learn to value the time I have.
I love the processing you have done here. It speaks of time.

lovely photo and your words are spot on ...

The processing on this is great, Rick! As far as the time shortage....we all just try to pack too much into our day. I don't think we know how to slow down! And, in part, I throw alot of the blame on technology. What is supposed to make life easier, give us more time, allow us to do more...is somehow backfiring!

Beautiful shot, fantastic processing, and your words are so true. It's amazing how often we say we wish we had more time, but also have such a capacity to waste it on things that aren't truly important.

P.S. I'm FAVing this cause the photo is great and your thoughts behind it equally as great! FAV

What a lovely clock- especially since it is a family treasure. I sure do understand how you feel about time. The month of October was such a struggle timewise for me. I barely kept my head above water! I think I learned that with so much "down" time, I've become lazy at managing my time well. Time is precious- great words Rick. Nice shot.
