My Bubbly Grand-Daughter by digitalrn

My Bubbly Grand-Daughter

This was the weekend for Kassidy's visit, and it warmed up nicely this afternoon so Kassidy finally broke out the bottle of bubbles my Wife picked up a few months ago. It didn't last too long, but I believe she enjoyed the few minutes she was making bubbles. She is growing up so fast, and I know the time is coming when her interests will change, and coming to Grandma & Grandpas won't be as much fun as it used to be. She is playing basketball now, so I suspect she will soon become busy with sports, and then the boys. Oh no, I can hardly wait. We are enjoying it while it lasts.
You are so right. I am already feeling melancholy about the time slipping away with my 5 year old grand daughter.

Great photo Rick! I understand! I'm taking advantage of the time I have with my little ones because I won't be cool for long! LOL!!

Nice capture of her youthful innocence. Enjoy your time with her for sure Rick.

She's lovely, Rick! Nice capture...I would frame that photo for her and give it to her at Xmas along with some other gift. This is priceless. I worry too, that the time is coming when I will lose my coolness. I hope that we can still stay connected forever in some way.

Oh... my niece is going to come to that age as well soon. Riley is 12 and - even though I'm the favourite Aunty - I know that once she really gets into high school, all the interests and fun things will change; and soon boys and sports and new girlfriends will take over her life. :)
Savouring these times is vital as it's now when these lovely children begin to turn into adults; but it's hard for them because of how confused those hormones make it for them.

Yes- you just have to enjoy each stage as it is. So it's nice that she still enjoys the bubbles but my guess is that she'll still enjoy the visits, they just won't happen as often. Nice shot!

you are never to old for bubbles. You are truly blessed Rick, she is gorgeous.

Oh Rick, that's what Christine (my wife) talk about. Our grand daughter is 8 now and her mum brings her over to our house and we take her to school and pick her up after, take her to our house where she has lunch and does her homework till her parents come for her. This will soon be over when she starts secondary school. We will miss seeing her everyday.

November 14th, 2011
A beautiful young lady. Time does go by so fast but I'm sure she will always want to come back to grandpa house.
November 14th, 2011
LOL. You will still be special and important to her, though. She will choose her boyfriends based on the relationships she sees her parents and grandparents having. I know, I know, it all happens too fast (: Enjoy the bubbles, lol
November 14th, 2011
What a beautiful portrait of her. They do grow up so quickly. I am so glad you have the opportunity to enjoy her now and give her role models to live up to. Great shot.
November 14th, 2011
fun shot! and i love the message on her shirt!
November 15th, 2011
Nice photo and memories that will go with it. They certainly do grow up too fast and "yes" interest in boys will most certainly trump Grandma and Grandpa. Enjoy it while you can.
November 16th, 2011
Yes, but Rick, as she gets older she'll still be visiting you to get away from the 'busy sports, and then the boys' Your place will be like a sort of oasis! Plus, it's very difficult to pass by the opportunity to blow bubbles every once in a while.
November 21st, 2011
Love this photo - I am a happy bubble blower from way back.
