Pressed For A Photo by digitalrn

Pressed For A Photo

Till I got home from work tonight I was feeling like I put in a double shift. Went out for supper, had some Chicken Soup and a salad, and now back home. Going to bed soon and will try to sleep away this nasty cold. Hopefully it will ease up a bit and in the morning I will be back to a more normal self. Grabbed a quick shot of my Grandmother's old vintage sad iron sitting on the floor nearby since I was "pressed" for a photo. I kind of like how it turned out in B/W, a vintage look. Now this vintage guy is going to bed, as soon as I finish my coffee. Have a wonderful night everyone.
Nice capture and caption. Hope you get rid of that cold. Have a good evening.

Great vintage composition . . love it. I'm always impressed by the weight of these irons. Don't mess with the woman who used this!!

Your caption made me smile! My mom has my Grandmother's. Granny was using hers as a doorstop by the time I came along. She would let me play with it. Wonderful pic! I really hope you feel better in the morning!

My dad was a tailor in his days and I remember him using these irons. He used to warm them on the stove before pressing clothes. I think one of my siblings has them now for their vintage value. Beautiful shot - B&W is perfect for it.

Gee, I hope you feel better. I could add something about your picture being "iron-ic" but why kick a man when he's down?

Hope you had a good nights rest. I love those old irons... oh, and 3 weeks ago I found the coolest little "junk" shop with all sorts of antiques and vintage items... I thought you might like some of the treasures there.

@hellcat Hey, now you have me wondering what was in that little shop. I bet it was full of goodies.
December 1st, 2011
@stownsend Suzie, thank you. I wish I had more time to spend at photography. I would love to really get into it more seriously, but for now it is all a lot of fun, and then being involved in something like this just adds to the joy. .

They had a little bit of everything...but I think it's one of those places that prices high and expects you to either know what you're buying or be willing to haggle...or both. :)
December 1st, 2011

My grandmother used to use these as doorstops. I think she did, I have a vague recollection of tripping over one of them once in her home which you photo has suddenly brought back to me, Rick.
December 3rd, 2011
Oh you are a genius with some of your photos.
