It was another nice day again, a bit cooler than the previous few days, but still rather nice for January. I walked around this stream, and just spent some time watching the water as it made its way downstream. In many ways our lives are similar to a stream. Along the way the water encounters a wide variety of obstacles that cause a temporary "re-routing" of the water, but it still continues to flow, finding its way around whatever is in its path. Just like the water, we encounter obstacles frequently in our lives, and these obstacles cause a temporary "re-routing" a shift from the norm. Life continues in spite of what we might encounter, and it's up to us to find a way over or around them. Some obstacles are more challenging, but eventually, if we persist, we can find a way, unless of course we just give up.
Building dams sometimes works! :-) Beautiful capture of the motion of the water! Looks fast moving and a place I could sit and watch the water for hours! I love fast moving water! Love this photo and your words!
Oh, how I've missed your photos and words, Rick! As usual, this was exactly what I needed to see and read. Thank you for your prayers. Melissa especially needs them. There is nothing harder than watching your child in pain, but we have had a chance to have many, many spiritual discussions. And thank you for taking the time to watch the video. You are one of the very first people I "followed" on 365, and I consider you a dear friend.
Have you ever played 'Poo Sticks'' Rick ? You throw two sticks in the river or stream preferably on one side of the bridge & see which persons stick comes out the other side first ! Lovely movement of water!
Great shot, Rick! Working with college students and graduate students, sometimes the obstacles in their expected paths completely RE-route them to a new path and this is often a better outcome!
I am a little behind in comments but I have loved all your photos. This is a great motion shot and the all obstacles are taken care of by this river...
