This is a practice quilt Josie made about a year ago. Periodically she will take a quilting class with her Sister to learn the various tricks in cutting, measuring, and getting everything to fit together. This one provided practice in cutting different size blocks and piecing them together. I like it, because on the cold Winter nights, if I am lying on the sofa, it provides a lot of warmth, as it is very heavy. Since there is a fair amount of yellow in this, I decided to throw it in with this week's theme.
i love quilts, great job both on the quilt and the pic. they're so very nice to have to keep warm and to remember the person who put so much time and effort into making it.
How awesome--I love quilts. They're so expensive (the ones I like) that I always think "someday" I will sit down long enough to make one. ....Okay, so maybe not, but the thought is there. What a lot of work this took.
Wow, if this is a practice quilt, she must be doing amazing things now. Please tell Josie that we are ALL enjoying her quilt and very glad that it's keeping you warm in PA on those cold wintery nights. My tropical scenes will also make you warm, in a different, but wishful, way for now. Aloha, and thanks for the follow.
Nice looking patch quilt. My wife and mother-in-law also quilt. My mother-in-law will spend up to a year putting one together. Picking out the color combination in the fabric is a drawn out process.
Nice quilt, Ummm I am a bit worried though. Your obsessed with yellow. I do not want to see you become Jaundice to stick with the theme. Just joking though, I can not resist some times with my sarcastic humor. It is a very nice quilt.
Josie's quilt is beautiful! It actually reminds me of the afghan my grandmother made me (in a log cabin quilt design - Josie will know what that is) that is always over my lap as I work on my laptop because we're trying to keep heating costs down.
I love quilts... Unfortunately, I do not sew, crochet, or knit...so I rely on the generosity of those that do. (Lucky for me it's how my mom and mother in law unwind.) She did a great job on that one.
I am a beginner quilter too. this is so nice :)
I am now home from holidays & on broadband again - thank goodness
