Yesterday when I went out for a drive I stumbled onto the snow geese at the wildlife preserve. And by the way, thank you all for the views and wonderful comments. It was an amazing sight to behold. The photos did not do the numbers justice. Anyway, this afternoon I was out on the back porch with the puppies and I heard geese in the air. I stepped off the porch and wow, I see this huge flock of geese heading North. They look as confused as the weather has been this year. I've never seen such a confusing mess of geese, LOL.
Good to know that the Canada Geese are heading home. That means that in a couple of months we might have some buds showing up. :) Their "V" formation is often skewed as the lead drops off to take a rest and they figure out who will take over. They are fun to watch.
Very cool shot Rick? Do you know why one side of the V is longer than the other? .................. More birds! ;-) Repeat of an old joke ... sorry.....
This is an awesome capture and very striking photo, Rick. It goes so well with your collage from yesterday. I can sort of see a V, but they are a bit out of sorts with their formation.
Writting in the sky....what does it say?? this is a puzzle... who is following whom...where are the clear V lines they usually fly in? you said it Rick they are as confused as we are with this winter..today its sunny again but still cold..my throat is a bit sore..I was out shopping the other day when is was so terribly windy...
Very nice! I love seeing geese in the spring. It's nice to know that they are heading north. Hopefully, it won't be too long before they reach us (Canadian prairies).
nice timing !!!
