Josie worked last night, so this morning while she slept, I went for a drive, and visited the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery to take some photos. The grounds are very well cared for, as it shows an enormous amount of respect for the men and women who served their country. Family members visit the grounds proudly. There were many people there this Easter morning, and the two individuals I included in my collage, particularly touched my heart as I watched them a few moments. Their body language told me that this was not a time of celebration, but rather a time of mourning for someone they loved. I put together this collage as a tribute to them, and to all those who must now live with a loved one in their heart as the holidays come and go. Thank you for the sacrifice they made.
What a beautiful and original tribute for Easter, Rick. So, so perfect. I'm still very sick and now the keyboard on my laptop is broken (hence the weird message on my photo), but I just had to stop by and wish you a wonderful Easter.
Beautiful & moving tribute Rick I applaud you for taking the time on an Easter Sunday morning when you could have been stuffing your face with chocolate !!
@lauriehiggins I apprecdiate that Laurie, but your thoughtfulness of the others, not wanting them to get sick paid off in the end with a beautiful sunset.
Very touching collage, Rick! Yes, I am touched by these two figures in the photo too .. we dearly miss our loved ones at this special time of the year.
What a lovely capture in each of these photos. I love the way you put them together to draw emotions and feelings for others into this collage. A FAV for me, as I too noticed yesterday so many people gathering at one of our largest cemeteries here. There was a line of traffic going both in and out both times that we passed there. FAV for your lovely commentary as well.
