I typically do not do photo shoots. They really stress me out. I do not have the proper equipment to do a professional job, and I hate the pressure of hoping the prints turn out half decent. Well, last week I agreed to do a bit of a photo shoot for a friend. She told me she didn't have any recent family photos, and their Son, pictured here, just graduated, and on Monday July 9th, he leaves for training camp. He enlisted in the United States Navy. I agreed to do it with the understanding that I give no guarantees. It's only a hobby. He's a fine young man, and is eager to take the big step. As I was doing the photos I couldn't help think, he looks so young to be taking on such an endeavor, setting aside his skateboard, and youth to become a man, willing to serve his Country.
Great shot, Rick. Please thank him for me for serving our country. Sometimes when I see someone in uniform I think to myself, "Babies, we're letting babies defend our country." They aren't, of course. It's just that I'm old! :)
Oh Rick, I think you took a marvelous portrait! And as you said, the skateboard is about the transition he'll make soon...he'll make a handsome sailor!
That is a fantastic portrait. I know his mother will cherish this for life. I really like the processing. He is taking a big step. I appreciate his willingness and his service for our country. God bless him and keep him safe.
Great shot! He looks a fine young man - so many of the fine young men of the past and present have been at the forefront in perilous situations!
Prayers for his safety as he follows the path he has chosen!
His mum will love this!
Really like the tones you chose to use and you did a great job with the portrait. Everybody looks young to me these days, including my doctor! They used to be old. What happened? ; -\
Wow Rick you took a great picture of this young man. a nice portrait I'm sure everyone will like. .let's be proud of him, I know you are already for him choosing to join the Navy at this tender age.
This is a fantastic portrait! I love the whole "put away the skateboard of childhood and look to the future of manhood" theme in the shot and the processing is perfect for this shot. I can't imagine that anyone would be disappointed in this shot! :)
You did a fabulous job with this, Rick! I don't think of you as an amateur at all. He does look so young to be going into service, but good for him for serving our country.
You did a great job and I am sure that his mother will cherish the shots of him at this stage because when he comes back from the Navy he will be much different. Good luck to him!
Prayers for his safety as he follows the path he has chosen!
His mum will love this!
