We were slammed with an ice storm during the early morning hours. We were supposed to get some snow to start off the storm, but instead the snow remained farther South, and we were hit with ice. We had about a half inch of ice, and as you can see here, it weighs heavy on the trees. It looked beautiful, but the weight of yesterday's heavy snow, and then a thick layer of ice on top of it, many of our old majestic trees on the grounds where I work couldn't carry the burden of all the ice. Tree limbs crashed down on top of power lines, a huge mess.
I feel for you - that's what we've gotten the most and the damage to the trees has been dreadful. Pretty to look at but not worth the cost. Hope you didn't lose power.
Ohhh noooo!! I saw on the news last night that the ice could be as thick as three quarters of an inch! Yikes! Stay safe!! Dare I say this is a beautiful pic?!
It's so pretty but so dangerous. We had both snow and icy rain. Poor Jeff had a tough day staying on top of it, but it had to be done. Beautiful picture.
