Passion Fruit by digitalrn

Passion Fruit

This past Spring we planted a Passion Flower, and recently we noticed this large pod hanging on the vine. I did some checking on-line and apparently some of the species bear fruit. If that's the case we have one.
It looks a bit like the passionfruit we have in our area which is now classed as a noxious weed - turns yellow and long shaped like a banana! But it can't be the same if you bought it.

Passion flowers are so pretty. My wife saw a picture of one, and after researching to determine what it was, I read up on it as well, and yes, you have a fruit. Nice picture.

Wow! What a nice surprise! It doesn't sound like something that we should be able to successfully grow this far north! :) Ready for this winter?? Snow showers are possible just an hour north of here this weekend! Yikes! Here we go again!
