Gone But Not Forgotten

Roadside America was first opened in 1935 in Shartlesville, Pa. It was an indoor village of nothing but trains. It covered 8,000 square feet of handmade buildings, bridges, you name it. This year it closed its doors. This huge statue stood out front for ages. Last year we took the Grandchildren to see it, thank goodness because we had no idea it was closing. This now stands outside an Amish craft store not far from where we live.
Cool statue and photo of it. So glad you took advantage of seeing it when it was open!

Life as we knew it is much changed. I guess we forget how long some of these "landmarks" have been around. And how much money and work it takes to keep them up. Glad you have this photo memory.

Ohhhh, I'm so sad that closed! I always wanted to go there and thought maybe we'd make it there this summer when some of the grandchildren came to visit. News like this always reminds me "seize the day" is a good motto in photography!
