A quick shot of one of the front buildings belonging to M & M Mars and Dove Chocolate in Elizabethtown, PA. For many, chocolate brings peace to the soul. If you haven't had the Peanut Butter Snickers yet, you do not know what you're missing. I have't had chocolate since June when I started my diet, but when I drive past this place and smell the sweet chocolate aroma, it is hard to resist. I think in another month I will be able to have a bar. I should be at my goal by then. Last month I reached my 38 pound mark. Have a wonderful evening.
I haven't had the peanut butter snickers and I won't cause if it is that good.... Congrats on your 38 pounds. When you reach your goal do we get to see a before and after
Great picture and congrats on your goals! I was told not to eat chocolate. It has been since April, but I am gradually adding foods back in, so I had some today and no problems. Good news. But I have never been a chocolate lover, so it's not big deal.
you have done a fantastic job of reaching your goal. i haven't been so dedicated. i can only imagine smelling this every day ... i'd be running around barking like rocco when we cook chicken. lol
Aww yeah...chocolate! Chicago has a Mars factory which has been here for years. I see it from the train every time I head into the city. In fact, they created a train stop for it and it's called "Mars". That makes me laugh..."Mars" in Chicago. Maybe I'll have to snap a picture of that station next time! Thanks for the connection of your pic and a little bit of home here!
Good for you for persevering with your diet. Sounds like you are a definite success story! ...and as for me, I cannot resist those little bits of milk chocolate Dove "Promises." Also like that they have a saying inside the wrapper. DAng...I sure wish I had some chocolate right now!!!!
Yeah on the 38 pounds! Well done!
Believe it or not I am allergic to chocolate - haven't had a morsel in over a year. Also allergic to coffee.
But I am fine with wine so I am not complaining. :)
It takes great resolve to be as diligent as you've been on your diet...I'm so proud of you! When the day comes that you go off the wagon (carefully), I'd say a Dove bar would be a worthwhile celebration. I don't indulge often, but I love their chocolate!
Love chocolate but I've had to admit it doesn't always love me. Since I've had to reduce sugar in my diet, I've not been eating it as much- only a tsp of dark chocolate chips (because of the antioxidants) in some yogart every other day. The migraines I used to get quite frequently have been drastically reduced- leading to the sad but inevitable conclusion. Most of them were caused by chocolate! Anyway, lovely reminder of a former favorite treat!!
Can "smelling" the chocolate add calories?? I'm sure glad that I'm not a big lover of chocolate . . but I can down a whole tub of cool whip in a hurry . . go figure!! Congrats on the weight loss, Rick.
Congratulations on you weight loss, that is great! Do they give tours. The last time I was in a chocolate factory was when we visited Hershey PA about 15 years ago. Love the smell and was very surprised about the price for high end chocolate.
@cirasj Joe, I am not sure about M&M Mars/Dove, but I know Hershey has Chocolate World set up as a riding tour, no longer able to do a factory tour due to OSHA regs. I would assume Mars is the same way.
