Fall is my favorite time of the year to visit this historic place near where I live. In the Fall, the walking paths are filled with beautiful colors. After work I took a brief walk to capture some of the color, because I am afraid by the weekend the colors may very well be much duller, and my luck it will rain.
This setting makes for a great picture...yes with all this rain we might not have too many days left to enjoy the colors..so many leaves are down already.
It's very pretty Rick- was the tunnel for the water in the canal or was it for vehicles? The colors have faded quickly up here. Although the days have been nice, the evenings are definitely cool and some rain and wind have thinned them out already so it was wise to photograph them when you did. Lovely shot.
@digitalrn Thanks Rick- that was very interesting. We also lived near another historic canal when we lived in Jersey- the Morris Canal. That one hooked up with a series of canals that finally connected with the Erie Canal. The canals were almost like the Interstate back in the day. An interesting and fogotten aspect of US History.
