While I was out for a walk today, I came across this stump, and in the middle of this dead, brown stump surrounded by fallen leaves of brown and dried grass, this perfect green sprout stood out like a sore thumb. It stood so proud. It made me think about the times in my life when I felt as though I was beating my head against a wall, getting nowhere. There were times when I couldn't see an end to life's daily struggles, but I convinced myself to go on, and in time I learned that perseverance paid off. Out of what appeared to be a hopeless life, sprouted new hope. Never give up.
You are the master of words, Rick. Faving for the wonderful message and pic that illustrates your words so well. It's a wonderful message to keep close.
Beautiful capture- and your words truly sum up a lot of peoples' lives. I'm reminded that a similar word is used in Scripture to indicate how God would renew Israel after it seemed to be cut off and gone forever. Well, if God can revive a nation, then He can renew and restore us too.
New Life, hope, salvation for His peoplel. I am reminded of Isaiah 11 "There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit."
Awesome thought and picture. My sister's biggest and favorite apple tree came down in a storm several years ago and now there's a shoot coming up that we all hope is its baby.
