When life becomes chaotic and congested with problems, wouldn't it be nice to have a remedy to suppress and decongest the chaos? Oh my, that would come in handy. Well, in the menawhile, when you get a cold, and you are congested, I swear by thus stuff. It makes it easier to get through the day. My cold is definitely better, and I am glad. Have a good night.
I also like this stuff! It smells bad...but does help! I've never heard of putting it on my feet. Interesting. I learned something today. I hope you feel even better tomorrow.
I didn't know that it came in tubes! But, it's great stuff. Just got over mine, Rick. Hang in there friend . . this 2nd time around doesn't last long. Love the photo!
Does this smell like the old Vicks in a blue jar? My cold is better during the day but hits me hard at night. Getting my voice back but cough some now. Geez, I will be glad to see it go! Hang in there and thanks for the tip!
I love Vicks Vaporub! But I'd never heard of putting it on your feet. I will have to try that if I get a cold- but hopefully I won't have to. So far it's been a pretty healthy winter for me! Glad to hear you're feeling better!!
A friend of mine said he uses it for arthritis of the hands. My wife tried it and it seemed to work, except for the smell. However, it needs to be the cream, not the blue jar stuff.
@sarasdadandmom Oh you got that right. We can rub some of this on her feet (the blue jar is greesy) then she'll have a hard time catching us as we run away LOL.
I love Vicks! When I was little and had a cold, my Granny would have me rub it on my chest. She would give me a cloth warmed by the fire to pin in my nightgown. It was wonderful for a cold. I will always associate the smell with my Granny. I always keep a jar on hand. :0)
Vicks is great stuff, what a difference an ocean makes to the packaging though - it comes in green tubs with blue lids here! Hope you're continuing to mend
I remember this stuff! We had the small blue jar that Pat mentioned when I was a kid. It really would be nice if there was a version of this that worked on problems bigger than a head cold!
@happypat Pat this is a new greaseless version, not as messy, but they still have the little blue jar. My Mom used to melt it and rub it on our chest and then cover it with a towel so we could sleep at night.
I didn't know they still made it. My mom used to rub it on our chests too when we were kids. I remember it being rather harsh. Eclectic subject; how do you think of these things?
