If you've been following me for sometime now, you will remember the big bridge project over the railroad that has been going on in my home town for the past year. Well, they are making progress, and September still holds as the completion date. As you can see, the road has been put in, and now they need to put down the black top, and some finishing work on the guard rails, etc. The people of Lebanon cannot wait. Then they move to the southbound route out of the City for the next year.
It's good to see progress isn't it? There was a big bridge project for YEARS just to the east of St. Paul. Every time I'd go over the bridge I'd wonder when in the world it was every going to be finished. It seems that they started the bridge on both sides of the river aiming to come together in the middle and missed. Literally. They had to practically start over and I'm sure someone, somewhere, lost a huge business. It was annoying and yet, it still kind of cracks me up! If you miss aligning a road you can always build in a jog, I suppose (there's one of those in Northern MN) but a bridge, not so much.
Of course completion dates always seem to be after they've graduated from their respective colleges.
