Internal Structure

This is the stairway that leads up into our attic. As a child visiting my Grandparents, I loved to sneak up into the attic. In my young mind I always assumed there were lots of unknown treasures hidden up there. As time passed by I learned that there were indeed treasures up there, and some of them I have acquired. Nothing of great monetary value, but rather priceless when it comes to my family history. The way our attic is built, and with the wooden rafters still exposed, you can see why the house has stood strong all these years.
Great shot. I love all the angles and diagonals. I can see why it would hold such mystery for you as a child.

This is a wonderful photo, Rick. The angles and composition are very cool and really create that sense of mystery you felt as a child. I loved my grandparent's attic too.

Rick, I do love the angles in this shot and the mystery the subject presents. My nana had a third-floor walkup which actually was a bedroom, but off of that, a door leading to a "closet' which had another door leading to the "attic." We (my brother, cousins and I) were always intrigued by that, and a little bit wary! I love older houses!

I like this perspective. I always liked browsing around in attics too.

Just the looks of it must have been intriguing enough for a little boy to go exploring. nice to know that the house is still structural safe and will be for lots more years to come.
