Another old coin from my collection. It's a Three Cent piece dated 1858. It's the smallest of United States silver coins. Again, this one has seem some history. I'd love to connect.
Very cool, Rick! My father-in-law was an avid coin collector as well. When he passed away last September, my husband inherited the collection. In his collection, there is one of these three cent pieces as well. I know nothing of coins. Are these very rare?
Well . . I guess that I haven't seen everything yet! Because I've never seen a coin like this. Beautiful, Rick. Thanks for sharing.. your three cents! :)
p.s. I love silver coins! I have two Kennedy silver half-dollars that were given to me by my paternal grandfather. They are dated 1966 (my birth year) and 1967. He passed away in 1969 and I feel fortunate to have those coins for the sentimental value.
Interesting! We have old coins too. I don't know why; we don't collect them or anything. Actually I just don't know what one does with them so they sit in a jar. This qualifies for our weekly theme and you just gave me a good idea. It's a coin for me tomorrow and I won't have to go out in the snow!
