I have taken many photos of this barn. For some reason I think it's an attractive setting, not for its beauty, but rather for what it represents. In its current condition I see a great deal of strength, and character. I see it as having endured years of stormy weather, and though through the years it has given way to the destructive forces of time, its foundation is still intact, and it is still strong. So it is with us. If we have a strong foundation on which to build our life, we can withstand the storms of time. We can count on experiencing the storms of life, and chances are we will sustain some damage. On the outside we may appear a bit rugged as we come out of the storms, but if our life, our hope is built on that solid foundation, the inside, our core will remain strong, and intact. We always have the option to rebuild.
Great B&W. Awesome rural Manflower. Wonderful commentary. If I may... I think the fence post, dead center foreground, is a problem. To me it is a distraction from the subject. The same shot a few paces to the left would probably put it in the corner of the shot, or out of it... either way, the subject then dominates.
