After Much Thought

In June I finished two solid years of 365 without missing a day of posting and commenting. It has consumed a lot of my time, and I loved every minute of it. You guys, and gals have become a part of my daily life, and I feel as though I know many of you personally. My life has been quite busy lately, and we have recently made plans for two major projects that we want to accomplish around the house. We are building a patio out back, and we are renovating our bathroom. We had thought about selling our family home and moving to a new home however, after much thought, we decided to stay where we are for now. With that in mind, we decided to make a few modifications to our existing home. In fairness to my family, myself, and to you, my friends, I will not be able to keep up as I had in the past. I will continue posting and commenting through July 31st, but then I am taking a break. I'm not sure how long, but I will check in, and do what I must to keep my page open, and then as soon as I can manage it more fairly, I plan to return. I couldn't possibly leave 365 for good. I do have my e-mail in my bio, so please feel free to drop me a line. Keep me posted on things, and I would be happy to reposnd via e-mail. This is going to be tough, but it is something I must do.
Let me say intially, a tremendous shot. I am sure it has been a hard decision Rick but it is a good thing that you won't disappearing completely. I have enjoyed not just your shots but the narratives that have accompanied them. Stay safe and I will continue to follow your postings as they come along.

Rick...this is a very time comsuming project. I quit trying to keep up a long time ago. I just wanted to say I have enjoyed your project, and appreciated your comments on mine. Don't be surprised I if I shoot you an email every once in awhile and Good Luck with your home revovaitons!

I totally understand....doing 365 "full steam ahead" is a lot of work....fun, but takes up a lot of time. I am going through same thing...one "project" I have for this year is to exercise and eat better so cannot post and comment daily. I hate that but something has got to give...will miss seeing you on a regular basis....

I think this shot depicts your mood ..it indicates the thought involved in making this decision, shows a bit of exhaustion maybe, and a touch of sadness

ooohhhh I understand but you will be MISSED!!! I have so enjoyed getting to "know" you over the last couple of years.....I will definitely shoot you an email every now and then to see how you are doing.....Good luck with your projects and God Bless.....

Oh man, Rick, I totally know where you're coming from. This is such a wonderful space for so many reasons, and it's hard to just let go of all that. You are one of my favorite people here. I love reading your words and looking at your photos, and if you don't mind, would love to grab your email so that I could drop you a line and hear how you're doing from time to time. Hugs to you and yours. I know I'll see you around somewhere. :)

True... this is a moody shot. It fits well.

Rick I know what you mean. I have had a really hard time with working a full time job and keeping the books for my husbands buisness along with everything else in life it is hard to keep up. It keeps pushing me a little longer out with my 365 pics. but it is fun to see what everyone is posting. Good luck with the updates to the house and I will keep my eyes open for you on 365.

@hellcat Oh gee whiz, you are so kind, and yes, by all means grab my e-mail. I have saved several people in my Fav so I can touch base. Thanks so much.

Love your pov, Rick.... it really depicts your feelings about your decision. I do understand ...this is way too time consuming for someone who has to work full-time and do that kind of project. Thank you so much for faithfully following me. Your support has meant alot to me... always. I do hope that you can upload a photo now and then and maybe even show us your home "project!" Will miss your great comments (stories) and your beautiful photos. Take care.

I just knew I should check in tonight and I am so glad I did! You are an amazing part of this community and wow, your dedication is inspiring. Sooner or later, we ALL need a break, life comes first. It is hard to let it go, but stay away and gets easier, but don't give up photography or writing!! I am glad you will check in and I'd hate for you to just disappear. As always, you have the perfect image for your words. Take care, Rick.

Your writing is so life inspirational and your photos inspire me to work harder at what I do. Thanks for that! The way I look at life these days is, we can do anything, but we can do everything. Enjoy your project and I certainly will look forward to seeing any photos that you do in the future. You'll be missed. I love your photo, too!

Rick you have been an awesome contributor and commentator on the project my friend, one of the most consistent that I follow and followed by and although you words and pictures will be missed for however long a time period you need I can fully understand the need to do other things and have a break, and you will enjoy the whole experience a whole lot more upon your return. Wishing you all the best for your new projects and looking forward to your return soon

I totally understand....and will miss you while you gone. But I've realized that you can't just do 365 all the time. You have to do other things as well. Thank you for your continued support of me.
July 18th, 2012
I have always been amazed on how you keep up anyway. Good luck on the house project and keep in touch. I enjoy your shots and captions and glad you will just be taking a break
July 18th, 2012
You will be sorely missed. I've loved your pictures. Keep in touch when you can. Some people fade away, but not from our memory. Thanks.

Oh Rick, you're a mainstay around here...but in doing so, it DOES consume A LOT of time! While we'll miss you, do what you must and come back around once in awhile...or soon... I left for 8 months, and fell right back into it this summer. It's a pretty special community! Hard to stay away for long...you'll see! God Bless you...

Rick, such a thoughtful, perfect picture to go with your message. I haven't known you long, but I have so enjoyed your outlook and uplifting messages and excellent photography, as well as receiving your comments on my photos. So I'll miss you and will be happy to see updates when you can, but I totally understand needing to spend the time elsewhere! Best of luck to you, and thanks so much for what you have shared in the short time I've "known" you!

This is an awesome shot. The processing is really nice. I appreciate all the comments and encouragement you've given me in the short time I've been on 365. It's meant a lot to me. I wish you the best in the projects you're taking on. I will miss you, your comments, and your photos.

I saw this pic and the title and I instantly knew what was coming. I'm really going to miss you Rick!!! I'm glad we will have you with us until the end of the month and I'm glad you plan on returning at some point! I totally understand. I have had trouble lately keeping up. Take care and thank you for your email. It's a lovely shot, even though it makes me sad. :0)
July 20th, 2012
I totally get it, Rick, and nobody has been more dedicated to commenting than you. I wish you nothing but the best in your endeavors.
July 21st, 2012
I totally understand. Good luck with your house projects. I did continue with year 3 but I do not comment very often. I still enjoy looking at photos and learning but it is too much to comment. Hope to see you around once in a while and will understand if you post and don't comment. Best wishes I have enjoyed your words of wisdom.

Great shot really!
July 23rd, 2012
I will certainly miss you! But totally understand! I hope all your remodeling plans go smoothly and well- it's a big job, but I think the right one for you! I would read your posts about your home and find it hard to believe you'd be able to leave it- like it would be hard to lop off one arm! And if you need a phenomenal tiler for your bathroom- check out Versatile Interiors on the web- that's Jeff's tiling business- you're not too far from here! This is a great shot- contemplative.

Miss you already xo
